Monthly Highlights
Below are photos and a story from the recent month's guided fly fishing trips in New Zealand's Central South Island.
February 2019
Flat calm and beautiful scenery.Looking through the photos it's easy to forget how privileged we are here in New Zealand - grandiose scenery combined with pristine waterways containing large trout makes this country an anglers' paradise even though water extraction and commercial dairy farming operations have dramatically effected many of our lowland streams and estuaries.
Can fishing in NZ get better than this ...David, back again after a visit mid-November, was very fortunate to see the country at its best. Most days were lovely and sunny and an absence of wind made for some wonderful fishing.
Being a true outdoorsman, David also squeezed in an afternoon horseback ride helping farming friends muster some sheep.
He just loved the hat of one of the young farmhands so now David is the new "Crocodile Dundee" of Brussels!
In addition to being an excellent angler, he is also a professional photographer and journalist.
It's a real pleasure when clients take an interest in the surrounds and not just the river! This month I've included a number of scenic shots of the wonderful landscapes we have in this area courtesy of David's professional eye.
A lovely yellow flanked trout.
