Monthly Highlights
Below are photos and a story from the recent month's guided fly fishing trips in New Zealand's Central South Island.
December 2013
Mark could be described as an action man. He's always on the go but unfortunately doesn't have enough spare time to pursue all his passions of which fly fishing is one! I mean you have to be keen to get up at 5am, travel 160km catch a couple of salmon along the way for good measure then spend the day trout fishing with me before the long drive home ready for work the next day!
Conditions were perfect: not a cloud in the sky and hardly a breath of Wind - ideal for fly fishing.
As a bonus the fish were "biting" although not all were easy. Being a "lefty", Mark has a big advantage. Most anglers are right handed meaning some tricky lies are often put in the "too hard basket" and remain relatively undisturbed. A left handed angler can exploit this situation ...
Nice fish taken in great spotting conditions | Back you go! | ||
Is there a better way to spend such a lovely day? Southern Alps in background | This trout required a very technical cast - job well done Mark! |
